And I'm glad to have the old photos of my parents and Karo's. Never thought I'd be using them across the world! Thank you for coming by...have a great Thanksgiving!

* Laura, yes, that's a pipe in Bennie's mouth...cool, huh? I love his Navy pictures-of course, I was always attracted to sailors, loved their uniforms. I knew my mom had been in the WACS, but never thought of her as a Veteran. Well, she served our US soldiers in India, although, she said she's not entitled to our Veterans' benefits.

Thanks for coming over, I know you're busy. Still think that see-thru bug is weird! Have a fun Thanksgiving...ooxxSuzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12383039383765299104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7840444083467497053.post-41162780413541374622011-11-15T11:13:16.771-06:002011-11-15T11:13:16.771-06:00Hi Susan!! what a nice tribute...to those in your...Hi Susan!! what a nice tribute...to those in your family...(i was going to say the MEN in your family...but then i remembered your mom!!)...and to ALL veterans!
you sure come from a long line of soldiers...and those who serve to protect & defend our country!!

i love all your old photos!
is that a pipe in Bennie's mouth?? i ask because i don't think i have ONE picture of my dad...without a pipe in his mouth! well, yes i do...but only a few! :)

great post!! :)laurak/ForestWalkArt :)https://www.blogger.com/profile/00285156023840252154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7840444083467497053.post-49607845991922465392011-11-12T07:43:45.612-06:002011-11-12T07:43:45.612-06:00What a nice tribute. I'm sorry you weren't able to enjoy your granddad...he must have been a good soldier, to have died for his country. I'm glad we could share each other's thoughts on this day, dear friend! Thank You!Suzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12383039383765299104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7840444083467497053.post-14088158414271538262011-11-11T06:24:03.473-06:002011-11-11T06:24:03.473-06:00Lovely tribute to your family members today, Susan...Lovely tribute to your family members today, Susan. They will always be remembered with pride. My granddad and my husband's granddad both died in the First World War, so we never knew them. My husband was in the Armed Forces for over 25 years, and took part in the war in Aden and, also, the Falklands. Hope your weekend goes well my friend.Southhamsdarlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12285980805569582676noreply@blogger.com
